To promote traditional art education, enhance lantern production and appreciation, and to further extend folk art techniques, the 2008 Taipei Lantern Festival collects excellent artworks from schools and social groups island wide to display great educational results.

Song Shan Tzu-Yo Temple, Taipei City
Song Shan Tzu-Yo Temple, the original named is Shi-Ko Ma Tzu Temple (because Song Shan's old name was Shi-Ko). It is also called Song Shan Ma Tzu Temple. Built from 1753, the temple took 4 years to complete the construction. After it was established, it became the spiritual guide of the residents of Shi-Ko 13 villages (including Song Shan Street, Cho-Wei village, Shi-Shin Village, Back Shan Po Village, Chung-Po Village, Wu-Fen-Pu Village, Shing-Ya Village, San-Chang-Li Village, Che-Cheng Village, Chung-Lun Village, Tung-Shi Village, Ta-Yo Village and old Li-Tzu Village).

In recent years, the Tzu-Yo Temple is getting more popular with people and followers. The temple is grateful for the contribution from the public as well as the pious belief and the trust for the temple's administration. The administration of Tzu-Yo Temple will continue to devote to charity and contribute to the society.

In the story, the mouse is returning home to celebrate the New Year.
	Happy Chinese New Year	Chang-Chun Elementary, Chung-Shan District, Taipei	Everyone is happy during the Chinese New Year. The dragon dance and lion dance activities has begun! Look! The cute mice are performing. Some of them are doing the lion dance, some of them are doing the dragon dancing, and still some of them are playing the drums. It is so cheerful and bustling.
	Music mouse of Happiness	Mei-Bei Elementary School, MeiShan Township, Chayi County	In a sunny afternoon, the happy golden hamster family is holding a special music performance. Everyone is playing with his/her forte instrument. The valley is full of happiness and warmness as the music flowing through.

	e-Mouse	San-Mu Work Shop	With the coming of e era, the mouse of computer replaces the traditional animal mouse as a new modern term. Wish this year is a great mouse year.
	The mouse of art	Hau-Yang Art Work Shop	The Skrik of Munch and the birth of Venus are famous art painting in the art history. Inspiration from the art brings interesting meanings for the lantern.
	Mouse Paradise	Tainan University of Technology Product Design Department	“Mouse paradise” is the favorite of every kid. The artwork presents the scene of mouse playing clown ball, whipping a top, and jumping a rope, making the lantern more interesting.
	A musical Mouse year	Tainan University of Technology Product Design Department	Great beginning for everything. The mouse year is the first year of the zodiac cycle. The energetic mouse are exercising with the music. Wish 2008 a peaceful good year.
Senior High School	The mouse concert	Daojiang High School of Commerce	The Lantern presents a zodiac concert where the mice are playing music. The design delivers the vivid performance with music, amusing and entertaining.
	Greetings from the lucky Peacock	Yi-Fong High School, Yun Lin	The lantern is produced with recycled material such as 6000 pieces of colored cloth as the feather, the rattan as the tail feather, and the recycled material as peacock symbol. The lantern conveys the message of environment protection and is also a best practice for students to learn the lantern art with practical materials.
	“ZORO” Distance	Tainan University of Technology Product Design Department	The Internet is beyond the countries. The communication of information is so fast tat the world has become a space where there is no distance among people.
	Mouse Rock	Tainan University of Technology Product Design Department	The lantern is expressing youth and passion. The main singer is Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and 3 other professional drummer, guitar player, and DJ are standing behind. They are taking everyone to the world of rock and roll.
Junior High School	Visit the world from Taipei	Ming-Shen Junior High School, Taipei	The lantern connects stone carven on Easter Island, the Himeji Castle in Japan, Yellow Crane Tower in China, Bang Pa-in in Thailand, Taj Mahal in India, Russian Church and Taipei 101, making Taipei an international city.
	Mice play to celebrate the Lantern Festival	Da Guan Junior High School, Taipei County	This year is the mouse year. The lantern uses mouse image to present funny and cute kid's play. It wishes all the best coming for the mouse year.
	There comes the mice, there comes the fortune	Da Guan Junior High School, Taipei County	The coin mouse is carrying ingot and it will bring fortune and luck. 5 bat mice represent 5 best lucks in: longevity, great fortune, peace, good will, and good end of life. Wish everyone have great fortune and luck this year!
